Actually my valentine's this year was a day to remember :D
The whole thing started by my fiancee planing the day for us a surprise. I asked him how fancy are the places we are going, and he said they were quite classy. So i decided to wear a beige and brown "pieds de poulet" dress, with a fur collar that i just bought recently and haven't worn yet.
The valentine's day was on a Thursday, and until Wednesday morning my fiancee had made a reservations at an Italian restaurant for dinner and another place later for drinks and a band. Then his brother called him and said that there was a new restaurant recently opened by 2 famous movie stars in Egypt, that is supposed to be great and he said that he liked the place more. and so my fiancee agreed that he could change the reservations to that other place.
So on Thursday, i started getting dresses about 2 hours before time, i wore an autumn smoky eyes make up with red lipstick and spent half an hour doing a chignon ,and both turned out to be perfect. I wore my dress an at 7,30 ahmed came and picked me up.
By that time the only thing that was disturbing me a bit that i had a sore throat and to make it worse i forgot to bring a coat with me, but i assured myself its gonna be OK, as a restaurant will be warm. Then we reached the place, its name was "THE MOOD" it looked quite fancy on the outside and once we got in,there was my shock !!!!!
The place was nice but by no means suitable for an elegant romantic dinner on valentine's day. It was huge with an outdoor space around a swimming pool and indoor lounges with very low tables that wasn't by any means suitable for having a descent meal on it, the dress code was casual to semi-casual, which made me look absolutely over dressed for the place and people were starring!!
Then what made it even worse that there was no reservation , you have to wait for a table and on the top of that the only descent high dinner tables were in the outdoor space which is absolutely ridiculous as its Feb. and the weather is cold and how on earth would you open a restaurant without having enough high tables outdoors and indoors !!!!!! Plus i was already on the verge of being sick and i couldn't stand the outdoor weather, so Ahmed turned to me and said "If you don't like the place we could just leave" and I agreed.
We left the place having no idea were we would go as any other place that is half descent should have been booked a few days ago, so we decided to go the second planned place and have any snacks they would offer along with the drinks and we would listen to the band and enjoy the night no matter what.
The other place was Bellini restaurant and bar at Intercontinental city stars hotel, and just as we entered i felt such a relief as the place defiantly met my expectations, it was very sophisticated and classy, people we dressed in a classic fashion as me, it was quite ,it was romantic, it was perfect :)
For our luck it had also a restaurant, the menu didn't have many options but the food was nice. We had a lovely dinner with candle lights, then the band came and started singing lovely songs for various singers, the place served lots of beverages both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. We had a few non-alcoholic cocktails, listened to the band, danced and had a lovely night :)
On our way home we exchanged gifts, he got me a pair of above the knee black high heels boots from ALDO and i got him a robe and a smoking pipe, which really impressed hi. Then we went home and had a night to remember <3<3<3
